Hsu Yunghsu
Hsu Yunghsu, born in Kaohsiung in 1955, received his MFA in Applied Arts from Tainan National University of the Arts in 2007. His works were exhibited in the United States, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Australia, etc. In recent years, his works were featured in various major exhibitions, including Particles and Waves: Paper Clay Illuminated touring exhibition in the United States (2019-2021), the 60th Inter-national Biennial of Contemporary Art Ceramics: Premio Faenza in Italy (2018), the 15th Swell Sculpture Festival in Australia (2017), and Taiwan Biennial: The Possibility of an Island (2016) organized by National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
Over the last few years, Hsu has also been invited by local museums for solo exhibitions, such as A World Made Light (2019-20) at Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, and Object/Self (2021) at Juming Museum. His large-scale artworks were archived by prestigious museums and institutions: National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Tainan Art Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu in Japan, White Rabbit Gallery in Australia, and so on. Hsu also participated in numerous sizable architecture and public art projects, for instance, headquarter building façade of Select Group in Singapore, and Taipei New Horizon’s public art program.
