The artist has devoted considerable time not only to polishing and honing his awe-inspiring aesthetics, but also to experiencing eternality from his shrewd observation. He created the Greenhouse series with extremely exquisite and realistic craftsmanship. The series combines deliberately corroded chunks of metal with either incomplete wings or fragmentary items, building a dramatic tension and a sharp contrast between fragile and sturdy materials. The huge and sturdy corroded metal is reminiscent of an armored knight who took an oath of loyalty to protect the extremely fragile and ephemeral “beauty.” The artist fabricated these realistic creatures and objects in order to transform 2D paintings into 3D artworks, that is, to approximate the ideal aesthetics and the true essence of life through his sculpture-like realistic paintings.
