Double Square Gallery artist Hsu Yunghsu’s solo exhibition “A World Made Light” starts from October 6, 2019 to May 31, 2020 at Kaohsiung Museum galleries 104-105. Curated jointly by Yulin Lee, Director of KMFA; and Kay Ngee Tan, a renowned architect from Singapore, this exhibition gives an interpretation of Hsu’s 21 most representative sets/pieces of works since 2011 from the perspective of ‘light’ and ‘lightness’. In particular, Hsu’s latest work, 2019-1, a nearly two-story tall work of high temperature thin ceramics, will debut in this exhibition, taking viewers to a brand-new height of ‘contemporary ceramic art’.

Hsu is an artist active in presenting his works to the world through exhibitions. During the past 20-odd years, he had totally more than 100 solo and joint exhibitions and received many awards. In particular, he won the Grand Prix of the 8th International Ceramics Competition of Mino in Japan and was recognized with the honorary membership of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) of UNESCO. He was invited to present his works at major biennials and art organizations around the world.
