Huang Po-Chih
Huang Po-Chih (1980-) was born in Taoyuan. He graduated from the Graduate Institute of Arts and Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts in 2011. He is drawn to stories of everyday life and common figures, through which he attempts to dive into the seemingly insignificant life stories to reflect on a wider, more profound context. He was the recipient of the Grand Prize of Taipei Art Awards in 2013, shortlisted for HUGO BOSS Asia Art Award for Emerging Asian Artists in 2015, and awarded the First Prize (Installation) of Prudential Eye Awards for Contemporary Asian Art in 2016. He has extensively exhibited in art museums and biennials in recent years, including Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai), Fukuoka Art Museum (Japan), National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Seoul), Center for Heritage, Arts and Textiles (CHAT, Hong Kong), Taipei Biennial (Taiwan), Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale (China), Fellbach Small Sculpture Triennial (Germany), Performa 19 (New York) and Busan Biennale (Korea).
