Now on view-Lin Liang-Tsai solo exhibition “In Search of the Absolute” & Su Hui-Yu solo exhibition “The Women’s Revenge”
Double Square Gallery is pleased to present Lin Liang-Tsai solo exhibition “In Search of the Absolute” and Su Hui-Yu solo exhibition “The Women’s Revenge” starts from October 31 to December 12.
Lin was born in Changhua in 1947. He is deaf and mute since birth, but possesses incredible artistic talents. An internationally esteemed and acclaimed artist, he is the recipient of the Award of Royal Academy of Arts (1989) and the Wu San-Lien Arts Award (2008), and has been commissioned to create the European June 4th Democratic Monument, entitled The Torch of Freedom.
Following Su’s previous exhibition at Double Square Gallery five years ago, the exhibition adopts the same title of his latest work and continues his exploration of issues related to the body and life politics in recent years. The artist reimagines Taiwanese films featuring the motif of women’s revenge in the 1980s, and incorporates his childhood memory of watching these films, creating a newly conceived revenge plan in 2020 after much self-exploration and creative search.
