Apeiron-Wu Tung-Lung Solo Exhibition
Double Square Gallery is pleased to present Apeiron—Wu Tung-Lung Solo Exhibition on December 22, 2018. Wu is the proud recipient of the 15th Lee Chun-Shan Prize awarded by Lee Chun-Shan Modern Painting Foundation, and is one of the few Taiwanese contemporary artists who has consistently created abstract painting. Wu’s work comprises of unconfined structures and elegant layers of colors, conveying a powerful visual tension and understated emotions while establishing a distinctive style through its minimal, simplified and rational appeal. Apeiron is Wu’s second solo exhibition at Double Square Gallery. Art critic Jian Tzu-Chieh is invited to be the academic chair of the exhibition, which features more than thirty sets of artworks. . In addition to two consistently developed series, Symbol and Color Lines, two new painting series created in the recent two years, Little Blocks, Little Symbol, and 12 sets of manuscripts which are never unveiled, are also on view in the exhibition. Unlike Wu’s previous series of large paintings, the new series Little Blocks and Little Symbol are composed of numerous small-scale paintings, offering viewers a fresh visual feast different from the past. The exhibition will be open until February 1, 2019.
